    Ghorepani-Poon Hill Trekking - 9 days

After leading several Himalayan expeditions myself, including the first American ascent of Annapurna I, I can attest to Chandra’s outstanding qualities as leader and organizer. He is an especially good guide for student groups. I first met Chandra when my daughter attended 8th grade at the Lincoln School in Kathmandu, Nepal, and he was the guide selected by the expat community to lead the 8th  grade students on a week-long “Explore Nepal” trek.  The students and parents really appreciated Chandran’s thoughtful planning and leadership.
In the last twenty years, I've enjoyed a dozen diverse adventures in Nepal with Chandra.  He always provides great food, gear, and guides as well as personalized itineraries and attention for individual travelers and small and large groups. His company is a good choice for any individual, school, group or family that wants to enjoy their own trek with a personal itinerary at a relatively low cost.
If you might like a Nepal adventure customized to your interests, abilities, and schedule,  you can learn more at at  Himalayan Icefall Trekking or contact Chandra at himtrekzone@gmail.com.

Ghorepani poon hill (3210m) trek is one of the most beautiful and amazing treks in the Annapurna region, which lies northeast part from Pokhara city. Poon hill trek is a short and easy trek, which offers magnificent panoramic views of West Himalayan ranges. Mountains like Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m; seventh highest mountain in the world), Mount Annapurna I (8091m; Tenth highest mountain in the world) Mount Fishtail (6993m), Huinchuli (6441m), Mount Gangapurna (7455m), and Mount Nilgiri (7061m) are the major mountains which are seen very closely from an elevation of 3210m of Poonhill. Poon hill trek route is not only famous or the splendid view of mountains, it is equally beautiful from the Nepalese Gurung and Magar Community culture and hospitality. Our trek starts from the small village of Kimche after driving 2 hours from Pokhara city. From Kimche we will start trekking towards the beautiful village of Ghandruk, famous for their Gurung culture, and hospitality, then From Ghandruk we will trek towards Poon hill via Beautiful Rhododendron forest rich in various species of flora and fauna, Tadapani- Ghorepani and finally to Poonhill.  The villages of Ghandruk, Tadapani are also known as the villages of famous Gurkha army, who are known to be one of the bravest and fearless soldiers. The best part of Poon hill trek is to view early morning sunrise from poon hill, where the sunlight makes the mountains glow and looks breathtaking from its tower, Poon hill provides the splendid 180-degree view of Panoramic Himalayan ranges and it is worth trekking up to Poon Hill.
Ghorepani Poon hill trek is the best suitable trekking for every age group trekkers, where each day 4-5 hours trekking is sufficient and don't have to exceed over 3210 meters which is also the poon hill height; therefore, there are very fewer chances of altitude sickness. Poon hill trek route is the best option for those who really like the nature, landscapes, mountains, rivers, high waterfalls, hot water spring and hence you can make your Poon hill trek a memory of life time experience. The most suitable time to trek Poon hill is during the months of March- April- May and during the months of September- October, and November
